about

Special edition Re-release of the largely unheard debut and only album by London five-piece Inarchy in support of original member, guitar and keyboard player Dan Wild-Beesley's ongoing medical treatment.

'Janus' was written between 2000-2003 in a mixture of damp practice rooms, scout halls and parents' living rooms. It's heavily influenced by a strong desire to rip off our favourite bands at the time, namely Tool, Mogwai, Deftones, Oceansize and a bit of Dream Theatre.

Bonus track 'Woodeye' came hot on the heels of drunken Student Union gigs during art college in 2004 and is a homage to drummer Chris Rodwell accidentally stabbing himself in the eye with a snapped drumstick whilst playing 'the widdly bit.'

Previously unreleased track 'Hmm Nah' followed the scaling down of the band from a 5 to a 4 piece when Rich Keyworth decided he was better off making electronic music from his bedroom rather than lugging masses of kit around the South to play to very few people. Sensible.

The playing is pretty sloppy in places, the singing off-key and many of the tracks are far too long, but for a bunch of awkward teenagers, we think we did alright.
